tb alliance is working to find a cure for the world’s oldest infectious disease by developing new, faster-acting and universally affordable medicines. to combat a disease that infects over 2 billion people, the alliance needed communications as innovative as their approach. as the agency of record for over 9 years, iop has developed the alliance's visual identity and implemented dozens of strategic communications, building their presence as their scale and reach increased.

2009 annual review
accelerating the pace

The year was an exciting year one for the Alliance with their second new CEO in as many years and rapid progress on their mission. They needed to keep momentum and enlarge their audience. To help accomplish the communications objectives for 2009, IOP created the report “Accelerating the Pace” — a succinct and compelling story of progress and promise. With bold, simple graphics, arresting images and provocative copy, IOP clarified the need, highlighted the unique development model and showcased the pipeline and promising drug candidates. The report has been a resounding success and, as with previous IOP-designed reports, was lauded in the design and communications industries.

2008 annual review
confronting tb

2008 was a year of continued progress for the Alliance with a new CEO and new focus. The Alliance shifted its efforts to concentrate on market research and access to affordable medicines. Building on the newly established priorities, IOP developed the theme "Confronting TB." This concept is structured around active words, telling the story of the Alliance: “fight, create, innovate, overcome,” etc.— from research and development through clinical trials to market access. These action-oriented headlines are supported by emotionally charged photos from TB clinics around the world, along with detailed information graphics illustrating the Alliance's innovative approaches. The report has been a huge success, furthering the Alliance’s work and mission as well as garnering many communications and design awards.

Working with the TB Alliance, IOP developed a strategic communications plan to build momentum for their messages, and debuted it in stages to maximize the Alliance’s investment in each and every vehicle. We streamlined their audiences; tied communications together with an accessible platform; simplified messaging; and designed content to be reused across media. We began by designing their logo, stationery and first annual report to help establish the Alliance and build name recognition. Over the past ten years we have leveraged our efforts and produced dozens projects for the TB Alliance including: web site design and development, annual reports, advertising, e-newsletters, report templates and a branded conference.
